PBSI maintains momentum from 2026 Asian Games towards European tour

The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) is striving to maintain the positive momentum of Indonesian badminton players following the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games as they prepare for their European tour, which begins next week.
Head of Development and Achievement at PP PBSI, Eng Hian, said that physical condition is a primary concern because the players only have a short time to recover and prepare for the next tournament.

"For Europe, we hope this momentum doesn't wane. That's the first thing. But we also have to realize that our preparation time is very tight," said Eng Hian at the PBSI Cipayung.

Indonesia's European tour will begin with the 2026 Denmark Open in Odense from October 13–18. From there, the BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament will continue to the French Open in Paris from October 20–25, also a Super 750 event.

The HYLO Open in Saarbrücken, Germany, from October 27 to November 1, is the next part of the series. The tournament is a BWF World Tour Super 500 event.

Eng Hian said the players also had to go through a transition period after about two to three weeks of participating in the Asian Games series in Japan.

According to him, the euphoria over Indonesia's success in winning two gold medals, one silver medal, and three bronze medals still needs to be appreciated, but the training program must be immediately adjusted.
