PBSI maps out path to full 2028 Olympic

The Indonesian Badminton Association  has begun mapping out its program for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, aiming to secure full quotas across all badminton categories.
Head of Development and Achievement at the Indonesian Badminton Association , Eng Hian, said all programs will be adjusted toward the Olympic qualification period, which begins in early May 2027.

"Our initial goal was to secure a full Olympic quota through the 2028 Olympic qualifiers. But of course, this is not an easy task for us," said Eng Hian at the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) Cipayung.

"We have to map, evaluate, and readjust the entire program. How do we navigate the Olympic route, which begins on May 1, 2027, with the goal of reaching the full Olympic quota by April 1, 2028?" he added.
The full badminton quota for the 2028 Olympics means that a country can qualify a maximum of 16 athletes, consisting of eight men and eight women, spread across five events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

To qualify for singles, both players must be in the top 16 of the Olympic Rankings. In doubles, two pairs from the same country must be in the top eight to qualify for two spots.
