Prabowo emphasized that welfare should not just be a slogan

President Prabowo Subianto, at the 2026 National Coordination Meeting of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team  emphasized that prosperity should not be merely a slogan, as the nation's economic strength must be truly felt by the people.

Prabowo explained that the government's economic policy is to improve people's welfare, which means that people's incomes must increase and each family must have real purchasing power.

The President said that the true economic strength of the nation must be felt by the people in real terms, farmers in villages, fishermen on the coast, traders in markets, micro, small, and medium enterprises, and mothers who are struggling to support their families' economy.

"Our economic strategy must improve people's welfare. Welfare shouldn't just be a catchphrase. The true meaning of prosperity is that people's incomes must actually increase," Prabowo said.

In order to realize the people's welfare, the President said that the central government and regional governments must be able to control and secure all of the nation's wealth.

"Indonesia's natural resources must be protected and managed for the greatest prosperity of the people," said the President.
