Secretary General of Prabowo Mania 08 Agustin Lumban Gaol said that economic growth needs to be accompanied by equal opportunities so that people can participate in productive activities and feel the benefits of national development.
"National development is not measured solely by economic growth, but also by the extent to which its benefits are felt by all levels of society. Therefore, strengthening the people's economy must be a crucial part of realizing shared prosperity," said Agustin, who is also one of the initiators of the 98 Resolution Network.
According to Agustin, Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution needs to be the basis for organizing the national economy, especially through the principle of joint ventures and the utilization of resources for the greatest prosperity of the people.
He also assessed that strengthening national industry, downstreaming natural resources, and increasing the added value of domestic commodities are important for strengthening Indonesia's economic independence.
"Indonesia has vast natural resource potential and economic strength. The challenge is how to optimally manage this potential, develop it through downstream processing, and provide added value to the national economy and the well-being of the people," he said.
Agustin assessed that a number of government programs, including Free Nutritious Meals, the Red and White Village Cooperative, the Red and White Fishing Village, the provision of subsidized housing, and strengthening food security, can support the expansion of economic opportunities and improve community welfare.
Furthermore, efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency, strengthen the processing industry, and optimize state assets through Danantara are considered crucial for increasing national economic capacity and supporting development financing.
In the area of social welfare, he emphasized the People's School program, free health checks, housing financing for low-income communities, and renovation of uninhabitable houses as part of efforts to expand access to basic services.
Agustin also emphasized the importance of improving natural resource governance, monitoring the use of state assets, protecting workers, and strengthening cooperatives and micro, small, and medium enterprises.
