This record is the fastest time in the history of the Mandalika Circuit in the MotoGP class, breaking Aprilia Racing rider Marco Bezzecchi's record of 1 minute 28.832 seconds in 2025.
The rider with number 25 beat Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin who were in second and third positions.
Martin was leading with 1 minute 30.719 seconds, but was then surpassed by The Bezz.
Marquez then took the lead with a time of 1 minute 30.267 seconds, but was quickly surpassed by Fernandez with a time of 1 minute 29.793 seconds, which he improved again to 1 minute 29.341 seconds midway through the session.
The incident occurred midway through the session when Fabio Quartararo lost his balance and went off the corner, ultimately being unable to continue the session.
Constantly chased by the Aprilia Racing duo, Fernandez finally sharpened his time record at the end of the session with 1 minute 28.725 seconds.
