The screen has acquired Mini LED technology, and the developers have added support for 5184 independently controllable dimming zones, which is among the highest rates among Mini LED screens currently available on the market.
The monitor supports two operating modes: 5K resolution at 180Hz refresh rate, and 2K resolution at 330Hz refresh rate. This allows users to switch between higher resolutions and different refresh rates depending on the game. Its peak brightness in HDR mode is claimed to be 1400 nits.
Its body is made of aluminum and it has a sleek and distinctive design. The developers have added support for progressive backlight scanning technology, which reduces image blur and makes shots clear in moving scenes.
This is not Redmagic's first attempt to launch a monitor with more than 5,000 local dimming zones. In November 2023, the brand unveiled the GM001S, a 27-inch Mini LED monitor that supports 4K resolution, a 160Hz refresh rate, and 5,088 local dimming zones. In the new monitor, the number of local dimming zones has increased by only 96, or about 1.9%. The main changes are upgrading the resolution from 4K to 5K and increasing the refresh rate to 180Hz, with a 330Hz refresh rate for 2K resolution.
This screen is expected to be released in global markets next December, with prices starting at approximately $970.
