The Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs advised business actors to recognize the AI agents they use

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria advised business actors to recognize the artificial intelligence (AI) agents they use in business systems and customer service delivery.

"It's no longer KYC, Know Your Customer, but there must be KYA, Know Your Agent ," he said, as quoted in the company's press release received.

He said that more and more companies are now utilizing AI agents to assist with customer service, transactions, and various business processes.

This technological support relies not only on generative AI models, but also on algorithms and authorizations to process data and perform certain actions.
"With machines being able to make their own decisions, the risks increase," Nezar said.

Because AI agents can interact with corporate systems and process data based on the authorizations granted, he explained, the use of AI agents needs to be accompanied by an understanding of their identity, ownership, and the limits of their authority.

"Sometimes there are agentic AIs that might bypass a number of rules or regulations made or limitations within a corporation because they can act," he said.

He emphasized the importance of companies taking steps to anticipate these risks when utilizing AI agent support to interact with customers or carry out transactions.

"Because later, those who will be interacting with you will no longer be humans; there will also be other AI agents who will ask questions or come in, or individuals who have AI agents ," he said.
