This certainty was announced after the Minister of Home Affairs reported to President Prabowo Subianto regarding the Ministry of Home Affairs' role in providing government assistance to regions through an inter-regional competition mechanism.
This was after accompanying President Prabowo when attending the 2026 National Coordination Meeting of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team.
The Minister of Home Affairs added that, based on coordination with the Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara, the government has prepared a budget of IDR 2 trillion for the 2027 fiscal year.
The plan is to divide the budget into Rp1 trillion for government assistance to regional governments and Rp1 trillion for fiscal incentives from the Ministry of Finance to regions. However, he explained that the technical implementation is still being finalized.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Home Affairs revealed that throughout 2026, the Ministry of Home Affairs held the Regional Government Achievement Appreciation event. The event featured three waves and six regions. Furthermore, the Ministry of Home Affairs ranked regions based on different assessment categories in each wave.
As a token of appreciation, the Ministry of Home Affairs is providing government assistance to the winners. First place receives Rp3 billion in government assistance, second place Rp2 billion, and third place Rp1 billion.
