The Sudanese Air Force launches extensive strikes against Rapid Support Forces strongholds in Nyala

On Monday evening, the Sudanese Air Force launched intensive and focused raids on Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State, targeting sites and gatherings of the Rapid Support Forces.

This was the fifth such strike this week.

These raids targeted the Doumaia area, located west of the city, where the bombing hit the crowded Tanqouj night market, amid initial reports indicating heavy casualties.

Field sources reported that the raid focused on military sites, hideouts and deployment centers belonging to the Rapid Support Forces, in addition to targeting human gatherings in Wadi Dumaya.

Initial estimates, which have not yet been definitively confirmed, indicate that dozens have been killed, most of them likely to be foreign mobilization elements and mercenaries, while the extent of the material and human destruction remains undetermined due to the difficulty of accessing documented information on the ground.

In this context, the commander of the special operations, Muhammad Didan, announced late Monday evening the success of the operations in neutralizing six strategic targets inside the city of Nyala, in parallel with the continued intensive flying of warplanes and drones in the city’s skies.

It should be noted that it has not yet been possible to independently verify the accuracy of these figures or the extent of the losses resulting from these successive strikes, given the continuation of military operations and the complexity of the field situation.
