3,000 runners kick off the series leading up to 500th anniversary

As many as 3,000 runners took part in the first series of the  One Running Series 2026 in the Sudirman Central Business District  area, as the start of a series of running races in five areas of the city to celebrate  500th anniversary in 2027.

The event, which competes in the 5 kilometer  category, takes the start and finish points at Lot 17, SCBD, with the route crossing a number of main roads in the capital, including Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Bundaran Senayan, Jalan Sisingamangaraja, and Jalan Senopati.

"The Jakarta One Running Series is not just a running competition, but a celebration of a healthy lifestyle amidst the dynamics of the metropolitan area," said PT Sasana Jiwa President Director Rufina Novalita.

Rufina said the high level of public participation in the inaugural event demonstrated the growing interest in running, particularly activities that combine physical activity with the experience of enjoying an urban atmosphere.

According to him, choosing the SCBD area as the race location provided a different experience for participants because they could run through Jakarta's business center which is usually crowded with office activities and vehicles.

"We were amazed and appreciated the high level of enthusiasm shown by the 3,000 participants who flocked to this first series," said Rufina.
