British police arrest 139 people during a protest in support of the "Palestine Action" movement

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the US embassy in the Nine Elms area, holding signs that read: “I am against genocide, and I support Palestine Action,” before London’s Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of 139 people during the protests.

The Palestine Action movement organizes protests targeting companies that do business with Israel. In June 2025, activists from the movement stormed the British airbase at Brize Norton, cutting its wires, spraying red paint on military aircraft engines, and raising the Palestinian flag.
Following the incident, the then British Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, initiated procedures to ban the movement, before officially announcing the ban in July 2025.

On February 13, the UK Supreme Court ruled that the Home Office's decision to designate Palestine Action as a "prohibited" organization was unlawful and ordered the ban lifted.

Following an appeal by the government, the Court of Appeal overturned the Supreme Court's ruling on June 15, upholding the ban on Palestine Action.

The ban remains in effect, and the UK Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for November 4 and 5 to consider the appeal against the ban.
