The Karenni Human Rights Group (KnHRG) issued a statement calling for international punishment against the military council for targeting civilians and aerial bombardment.
A statement issued on September 9 stated that air strikes against civilians are a war crime and should be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The Karenni Human Rights Group has also called on the international community to immediately stop providing aviation fuel to the military council.
Last September 5th, the military council air bombed the Lai war refugee camp in Phaggon Township, southern Shan State, which resulted in the deaths of civilians, including children.
At least ten civilians, including children and women, were killed and at least 14 were injured in the Lai refugee camp, which was home to more than 600 people.
The Karenni Human Rights Group (KnHRG) also said that the refugee camp had been attacked seven times this year.
