The contents of vape fluid are as dangerous as conventional cigarettes

. Pulmonology specialist at the University of Indonesia Hospital, Dr. Aditya Wirawan Ph.D SpP, said the liquid content used for electronic cigarettes such as vapes contains substances that are just as dangerous as conventional cigarettes.

" E-cigarettes or vapes or pens , or electronic nicotine delivery systems also contain substances that are also dangerous, but that doesn't mean they are more sophisticated and healthier," Aditya said in a health discussion monitored online in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Electronic cigarettes in the form of pens or vapes have a battery, a heating element, and a cartridge to be filled with liquid containing propylene glycol and glycerol which can cause lung damage called popcorn lung disease .
