The Israeli army seized the ship "Madeleine", which was heading to break the siege of the Gaza Strip

The Israeli army announced early Monday morning that its soldiers had seized the ship "Madeleine" before it reached the Gaza Strip.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition said, "The Madeleine is under attack at sea, as are the activists on board. We call on you to take action to demand its release and an end to the blockade of Gaza." It confirmed that the Israeli military boarded the ship and kidnapped the volunteers on board.

Israeli Army Radio quoted a military source as saying that a naval commando unit took control of the ship.

He said the ship was taken to Ashdod port.

Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the Israeli Navy's 13th Fleet took control of the ship.
