Türkiye strongly condemns the Israeli attack on Iran and calls on the international community to take joint action.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that "this aggression represents a blatant violation of international law and a provocation that serves Israel's strategic policy of destabilizing the region."

The ministry condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli airstrikes on Iran, noting that "the fact that these attacks occurred at a time when negotiations over the Iranian nuclear program were intensifying demonstrates that the government of (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu does not want to resolve any issue through diplomatic means and does not hesitate to risk regional stability and world peace in line with its own interests."

She reiterated, "We do not want to see more bloodshed and destruction in the Middle East, and we call on the international community to take urgent action to prevent the spread of war."

In turn, Turkish Vice President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Cevdet Yilmaz, described in a post on the X platform "the aggression of the (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu administration as lacking any legitimate justification."

He added: "At a time when international pressure is mounting over Israel's genocidal policies in Gaza, and the nuclear dialogue with Iran continues, this attack demonstrates a barbaric stance that ignores humanitarian and diplomatic values."

Yilmaz called on international institutions and all concerned countries to take a stronger stance against the Israeli government's actions that threaten humanitarian values, the rule of law, and regional stability.

For his part, Turkish Justice and Development Party spokesman Omer Celik condemned "this illegal and barbaric attack in the strongest terms," saying, "By attacking Iran, Israel has added a new attack to its brutal and barbaric attacks that have set the entire region ablaze."

He added, "The entire world must heed our President Erdogan's warnings about the consequences of the genocidal acts committed by the Netanyahu government," and "take concrete, joint action against it."

For his part, Turkish Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said that this attack "once again demonstrated to the international community the extent of the threat the Netanyahu administration poses to regional and global peace."

Alton pointed out that "the international community's failure to respond to the developments that led to the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza has ignited the entire region and become a threat to world peace."

He added, "The Israeli attack will be assessed from multiple perspectives, from energy security to the global economy, from international law to global diplomacy."

He stressed that "the international community must now act for regional and global peace, and take a clear stand against Israel's reckless and blatant aggression."

Alton stressed that Türkiye will continue to "work for regional and global peace, confront Israel's reckless stance that disregards international law, and support efforts in this direction."

At dawn on Friday, Israel launched a massive attack on Iran with more than 200 fighter jets, dubbed "Operation Rising Lion." The attack targeted nuclear facilities in various locations and assassinated military leaders and scientists.

According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, six nuclear scientists were killed in Israel's massive attack on Iran: Abdolhamid Manouchehr, Ahmad Reza Zolfaghari, Amir Hossein Faghihi, Motallebzadeh, Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, and Fereydoun Abbasi.

The Israeli occupation army said in a statement following the attack that it "launched, under the direction of the political echelon, a precise and comprehensive preemptive attack to strike the Iranian nuclear program."

He added, "Dozens of warplanes completed an opening strike that targeted dozens of military targets belonging to the Iranian regime, including nuclear targets in various regions of Iran."

In turn, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a press conference that "the goal of this unprecedented operation is to strike Iran's nuclear infrastructure, ballistic missile factories, and numerous military capabilities."

In response, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei threatened Israel with "severe punishment" in a message to his people on Friday, according to the IRNA news agency.

The United States, its ally Israel, and other countries accuse Iran of seeking to produce nuclear weapons, while Tehran says its program is designed for peaceful purposes, including electricity generation.

Israel is the only country in the region that possesses a nuclear arsenal, which is not subject to international supervision.
