Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight (65.8 kg) champion Alexander Volkanovski revealed the latest news regarding his next fight including a possible rematch against Yair Rodriguez.
"Hearing Yair's name mentioned a lot, the only date (in) September is what you know, but that might not be the best date. Obviously, my wife is due in that month, so if we can work it out, that would be better," said Alexander Volkanovski in a report on the MMA Fighting website monitored.
The Australian champion reclaimed the featherweight title in April with a stellar performance against Diego Lopes at UFC 314. A vacant belt was up for grabs after former champion Ilia Topuria left the division to move up to lightweight and Volkanovski grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
The fighter nicknamed "The Great" then gave an update on his next fight, a possible rematch against Yair Rodriguez.
At 36 years old, Volkanovski is approaching the twilight of his career, but he is still looking to add more big fights to his legacy.
