Liverpool will immortalize the number 20 jersey belonging to Diogo Jota who died in a car accident on Thursday local time in Zamora, Spain.
"The number 20 shirt will be immortalized for his contribution as part of Liverpool's 2024-25 title triumph, which was the club's 20th," Liverpool wrote on its website on Friday.
"With his trademark flick and strike across the Kop to seal victory in the Merseyside derby in April, the final, poignant goal of his life," Liverpool added.
Liverpool tell how Jota's career began as a footballer and before he was brought in in the summer of 2020.
Jota has adapted very well to Liverpool's front line, even providing healthy competition to the trio of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
"Jota has hit double figures for goals in his 21st appearance for the Reds, including a stunning hat-trick away to Atalanta in the Champions League," Liverpool wrote.
