Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid stated that Indonesia is ready to be the driving force behind the implementation of the World Summit on the Information Society agenda regarding the development and utilization of technology.
At the WSIS Ministerial Round Table forum in Switzerland he said that Indonesia is ready to play a role in implementing the agenda on artificial intelligence ethics, sustainable use of outer space, child protection in digital space, and the development of an environmentally friendly digital economy.
In a forum attended by ministers of communications and digital affairs from Azerbaijan, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Russia, Burundi, Gabon, China, and Cuba, Meutya invited WSIS member countries to work together to realize a shared vision.
"All member countries must work together to realize the WSIS vision, which is to ensure that all humanity has access to digital technology," said Meutya in a press statement on Thursday.
"Let's turn the digital divide into a digital advantage, ensuring that the WSIS vision becomes a reality, where digital technology lifts all humanity and leaves no one behind," he said.
