The ministry said in its daily statistical report on the number of martyrs and wounded as a result of the Israeli genocide : "134 martyrs (including 4 martyrs who were recovered) and 1,155 wounded arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals in the past 24 hours."
She added: "The death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 59,029 martyrs and 142,135 injuries since October 7, 2023," and "the death toll and injuries since (Israel resumed its genocide on) March 18, 2025, until today has reached: 8,196 martyrs and 30,094 injuries."
Regarding starving martyrs, the ministry said: "The number of aid victims who arrived at hospitals over the past 24 hours reached 99 martyrs and more than 650 injured," adding, "This brings the total number of livelihood victims who arrived at hospitals to 1,021 martyrs and more than 6,511 injured," since May 27.
For his part, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Munir al-Barash, reported that 19 people in the Strip had died from starvation within 24 hours.
In the same context, 21 Palestinians, including five aid recipients, have been killed since dawn Monday, as a result of Israeli airstrikes, artillery shelling, and gunfire targeting displaced persons' tents, homes, and aid recipients in the northern, central, and southern Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.
Deir al-Balah operation
This comes as the Israeli occupation army launched a ground operation in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip on Monday, according to the private Hebrew Channel 14, which reported that forces from the Israeli occupation army's Golani Brigade had begun a ground operation in the city of Deir al-Balah, without further details.
On Sunday, army spokesman Avichay Adraee said: "All those present in the southwestern area of Deir al-Balah, in blocks 130, 132-134, 136-139, and 2351, including those inside tents in the area, must evacuate immediately."
In a post on the X platform, Adraee called on Palestinians in the aforementioned areas to head south toward the Mawasi area, and vowed to expand the scope of the genocide by carrying out a "ground operation" for the first time in the areas designated by the warning.
Last May, the Israeli occupation army warned Palestinians in the Deir al-Balah area of immediate forced evacuation, as part of the genocidal war it is waging in the Gaza Strip.
On June 5, 2024, an Israeli ground military operation began east of Deir al-Balah and east of al-Bureij camp. Six days later, the army declared its end.
Evacuation orders
For its part, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Monday that 88% of the Gaza Strip is subject to Israeli evacuation orders involving the forced displacement of Palestinians.
OCHA explained in a statement that the so-called "evacuation orders" will affect between 50,000 and 80,000 Palestinians living in the affected areas of the Gaza Strip. It added that 88% of the Gaza Strip's area, approximately 360 square kilometers and home to approximately 2.3 million Palestinians, is subject to so-called Israeli "evacuation orders."
Desperate messages about famine
In a related context, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) renewed its call on Monday to lift the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip to end the famine there.
"We are receiving desperate messages about famine from Gaza, including from our colleagues," the agency said via its X platform, reporting that "food prices have increased fortyfold," referring to the repercussions of the ongoing blockade.
"Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Gaza, UNRWA has enough food stored in its warehouses to cover the needs of all its residents for more than three months," she continued, adding, "Lift the blockade and allow aid to enter safely and on a large scale."
Emergency Arab meeting
For its part, Palestine has requested an emergency meeting of the Arab League at the level of permanent representatives tomorrow, Tuesday, to discuss the blockade and starvation imposed by Israel on civilians in the Gaza Strip.
This came according to what the official news agency "Wafa" reported on Monday, quoting the Permanent Representative of Palestine to the Arab League, Muhannad Al-Aklouk.
For his part, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa called on the international community on Monday to pressure Israel to halt its policy of starving Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
This came during a press conference held by Mustafa at his office in Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, in the presence of a number of representatives of UN organizations.
Mustafa said: "Israel continues to use starvation as a weapon of war, killing more than 995 Palestinians waiting for aid in death traps." He added: "The international community must not be complicit by remaining silent... The credibility of the international system based on law is linked to its ability to implement it without exception or delay." He called on everyone to "take action to stop the war on Gaza."
Since March 2, Israel has evaded further implementation of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas, closing Gaza's crossings to aid trucks stacked along the border.
With US support, Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
In addition to the martyrs and wounded, most of whom were children and women, the genocide left more than 9,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that claimed the lives of many.
