Mexicali, September 17.- An alternative investigation into the sexual abuse case at the "Graciano Viniegra" kindergarten is being considered, announced Cuauhtémoc Castilla, attorney and legal advisor to little Kim's family.
To demand justice for Kim's abuse, dozens of people, convened by the victim's family, demonstrated this morning at the "Graciano Viniegra" kindergarten and at the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) building in Mexicali.
Speaking to the media, Castilla explained that the family will await the results of the FGE investigation, but if they are not satisfied, they will conduct an independent investigation.
"The girl (Kim) will be treated by a psychologist specializing in sexual offenses, and a medical examiner from Guadalajara will be coming to do the same," he explained.
For her part, Dulce, the minor's mother, was asked by a reporter if she knew how many mothers who have approached her with similar cases—she did not specify if they were from the same kindergarten—would file a complaint with the authorities, to which she responded, "No."
Were the protocols followed?
The lawyer considered that, when the complaint was filed, the kindergarten should have remained under the protection of the authorities, so they will analyze whether there were any irregularities in the process.
Regarding the actions of the teachers and state authorities, he said the victim's family demands an investigation into whether the necessary protocols for this type of crime were followed, given that the victim was a woman and a minor.
Regarding this, the Undersecretary of the Education Sector, Duce María Jauregui Santillano, stated that, in accordance with protocols, a teacher and an administrator, who were identified as allegedly responsible for sexually abusing Kim, were removed from their positions.
