Governor reiterates commitment to women's rights

Mexicali, May 9. Reiterating her commitment to women's rights, Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda explained that this is the reason her administration promoted the Violet Card to constitutional status, making it a right that benefits self-employed mothers in the state who are able to support their families.

As part of the Mother's Day celebrations, the president met with women from the community, telling them that what were once programs are now rights elevated to constitutional status, and "no subsequent ruler will be able to take them away, because they are already included in the Baja California constitution."

According to a press release, during the meeting, she recalled that Pancita Llena Corazón Contento is another program that has become a constitutional right, and that by directly benefiting girls and boys with food in public schools, it has a positive impact on the economy of mothers.

The governor indicated that the empowerment, safety, and well-being of women throughout the state will continue to be promoted, as they are the driving force of society and the transformation of Baja California.

Present at the celebration, Baja California's Secretary of Welfare, Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán, praised the governor's leadership, "under which services have been consolidated that benefit the state's most vulnerable population, especially women," the statement noted.

"Just as many of you, as leaders of your communities, seek improvements for the parks in your neighborhoods, your schools, and to have all the public services, Marina del Pilar has also sought this since before being governor," he explained.
