The Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) recommends three things that can be done to support Internet Service Providers ( ISPs ) in their efforts to expand internet network access to underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions.
APJII Secretary General Zulfadly Syam said there are three things the government can do, the first is to provide incentives for ISPs who want to open their services in the 3T region.
"So, those who want to develop in the 3T regions will be given incentives if the government has the funds for the ISP," said Zulfadly during a discussion on the 2025 Internet Profile Survey at the Jakarta International Convention Center, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Second, the government can provide rewards for ISPs that expand their internet networks to 3T regions, for example by providing tax breaks.
The final option, said Zulfadly, is for the government to at least provide protection for ISPs who want to build internet infrastructure in the 3T region from competition with other service providers or illegal ISPs.
