Mexicali, March 22. To follow up on the bilateral agreements related to Acts 320, 323, and 328, which seek to develop actions to guarantee a sufficient water supply for Baja California, Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda held a working meeting with Adriana Reséndez, head of the International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC).
The state leader, accompanied by the Secretary for Water Management, Sanitation, and Protection, Víctor Daniel Amador Barragán, and the Secretary General of Government, Alfredo Álvarez Cárdenas, recognized the importance of water supply and access to both countries.
He emphasized that the global community is facing a phenomenon known as " water stress ," from which the Colorado River Basin is no exception. However, in collaboration with the Mexican CILA and its U.S. counterpart, administrative measures have been taken to protect and guarantee the water supply.
For his part, Amador Barragán announced that the State Water Program (PEH) was recently presented, based on a diagnosis of the state's current situation, both in terms of drinking water and sanitation distribution and infrastructure.
