Rosarito Beach, August 15. Last night, Police Chief César Silva Ibáñez was shot at in front of the municipal Public Security Department while on duty in his patrol car. The officer was unharmed because, according to some reports, the vehicle is armored.
Police repelled the attack, and one of the attackers, named Giovanny "N," was seriously wounded with five gunshot wounds to the back. The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. this Saturday, according to a 911 report.
The long-range weapons fired at a RAM patrol car with the number BC-471-A1 pickup truck, in which a police chief was traveling. Walther Giovanny N, 24, was wounded in the attack, having been shot at the steering wheel of a silver Ford Expedition with California license plate 8PAR134, allegedly used in the attack.
Inside the truck they found long weapons.
Although the attack took place in front of the Public Security Office, a few meters from the State Government Center and the Municipal Palace, there were no C4 video recording cameras at the scene, according to a police report obtained by the media.
