Marina del Pilar begins the process to adopt a child from the DIF (National Institute of Family Development).

Tijuana, April 27.- Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda will seek to adopt a child currently in one of the orphanages of the Comprehensive Family Development System (DIF).

During her morning press conference, the president was questioned about the adoption process for a minor under the care of the DIF (National Family Development Agency) in Baja California.

The head of the DIF in the state, Mónica Vargas Nuñez, called for "demystifying the issue of adoptions, as the process is very simple; people have to go to one of the sub-prosecutor's offices in the municipalities where they receive a work evaluation and a psychological assessment."

After these processes, interested parties must attend courses offered by the DIF (National Institute of International Development) and then be placed on a list that is evaluated by the State Adoption Council, which has the final say on the matter.

He explained that more than 100 families have submitted the necessary documents to begin the process, and 79 of them have already adopted a minor.

After providing details of the process, Vargas Nuñez asked Marina del Pilar for permission to announce that the state leader had begun the process of adopting a minor.

"When the governor visited us at the Mexicali shelter, she had the opportunity to spend time with many children, so she decided to begin the adoption process," Vargas Nuñez explained.
