Mexicali, BC, Friday, August 16, 2024.- In the installation session of the Government, Legislation, and Constitutional Affairs Commission (CGLyPC), chaired by Morena deputy Juan Manuel Molina García, which took place in the Judiciary building, the space was used to approve two Agreements and two Opinions, related to Magistrates and an initiative sent by the Governor of the State, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, on criminal matters.
The CGLyPC was officially formed; in addition to the president, Alejandra Ang serves as secretary, and as members, Michel Sánchez, Julia Andrea González, Evelyn Sánchez, Mayté Méndez (all from MORENA), Daylín García (MC), Diego Lara Arregui (Fuerza por México), and Diego Echeverría (PAN).
Once the installation was declared and the work plan and session schedule were approved, the draft Agreement regarding the appointment process for the vacant Supernumerary Magistrate was read. Gustavo Orozco Guillén, Armando Gerónimo Vázquez Romero, Priscila Arias Gardea, and Rodolfo León Sosa are listed for the competition. Therefore, the Government Commission will conduct the respective interviews in session.
The other Agreement presented at the session related to the order of precedence on the list for Supernumerary Magistrates, due to the fact that Numerary Magistrate Olimpia Ángeles Chacón has filed for 90-day disability.
Initiative
On the other hand, Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda's initiative to reform various articles of the State Penal Code was presented for analysis and study. This initiative seeks to punish those who falsify identification elements belonging to public security institutions, as well as those who misuse these elements and the information and technology of said institutions.
In addition, the bill was issued to address the request for voluntary retirement submitted by Full Judge Olimpia Ángeles Chacón, to take effect on December 16 of this year.
