Tijuana, January 22. Lifeguards from the city's Fire Department rescued a 60-year-old man who was on a small island in the middle of a stream on the Periférico, near the racetracks, and a woman who was being swept away by the current in her vehicle, between streets in Cañón del Pato.
Fire Station 6 Captain Alberto Valdez Bravo reported that after some maneuvers involving members of the Obrera neighborhood, the man received treatment but was not injured.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Civil Protection Directorate has urged the public to avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary, as flooding is occurring throughout the city.
