Ensenada, March 21. With a civic ceremony, wreath-laying, and honor guards, the Ensenada City Council commemorated the anniversary of the birth of Benito Pablo Juárez García .
Before civil and military authorities and citizens, the municipal president, Claudia Agatón, highlighted that the life and work of the native of San Pablo Guelatao, Oaxaca , illuminates the path of people who aspire to justice, equality and freedom.
He emphasized that Juárez García was a reformer, a statesman, and a defender of sovereignty, as well as a builder of institutions and one of the strongest pillars on which Mexico rests as a secular , republican, and democratic state.
"He taught us that public service must have an ethical foundation, a commitment to the common good, and a deep vocation for social justice," the mayor said.
