McLaren driver Lando Norris dedicated his victory at the Sao Paulo GP to McLaren Sporting Director Gil de Ferran, who passed away in 2023.
Norris became the king of the Interlagos Circuit, Sao Paulo, Monday morning WIB, after appearing dominant throughout the race and finally finishing in pole position.
"It was an incredible race and it's great to win here in Brazil. It's an incredible track, amazing fans," Norris said, as quoted by Formula 1 on Monday.
"This win is for Gil, one of my mentors growing up a few years ago. This one is for him - I'm sure he'd be very proud of it. I was thinking about that while driving. It was a perfect weekend," added the British driver.
