The Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PB ESI) stated that Indonesian esports athletes are digital heroes who strive to bring honor to the nation on the international stage.
This was conveyed by the Daily Chair of PB ESI Bambang Sunarwibowo in commemoration of National Heroes Day on November 10, 2025. According to him, the spirit of heroism in the modern era is not only manifested through physical struggle, but also through real contributions in the fields of achievement, knowledge, and integrity.
"Esports athletes are now digital heroes. They are the nation's ambassadors in the highly competitive global arena. Every time Indonesian esports athletes fly the Indonesian flag on the international stage, they not only bring home trophies but also bring pride to the Indonesian nation," Bambang told ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday.
"Their commitment to pursuing the championship title and becoming New Heroes by serving as role models for young people further strengthens their status as true heroes in the digital age."
Bambang explained that the meaning of Heroes' Day for PB ESI is a reminder to emulate the spirit of struggle and dedication of past heroes by contributing according to their respective fields of expertise.
