  Google Indonesia Country Director Veronica Utami said that the video commerce trend is now a major driver of digital growth in Indonesia's e-commerce sector.


"Indonesia is the undisputed regional leader in this sector. Video commerce has driven massive growth year after year, reaching a phenomenal 2.6 billion transactions," Veronica said in her presentation at the "e-Conomy SEA 2025" event held in Jakarta on Thursday.


He stated that transactions via interactive video formats surged 90 percent, reaching a total of 2.6 billion transactions in the past year, making Indonesia a regional leader in Southeast Asia in this sector.


He emphasized that this phenomenon is evidence of a significant change in people's shopping behavior.




The "e-Conomy SEA 2025" report shows that digital revenue growth in Southeast Asia is stable at 15 percent per year, with e-commerce and video commerce being the main drivers of diversification of new revenue sources.


Veronica revealed that this surge was also supported by the increase in the number of online sellers in Indonesia, which grew 75 percent over the past year, to around 800 thousand active stores and sellers across various platforms.
