Israeli military vehicles advanced dozens of meters into the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, before withdrawing again, amid heavy fire cover from drones.
In Gaza City, the occupation forces opened fire towards the eastern neighborhoods, while no injuries have been recorded so far as a result of these violations.
Since the agreement came into effect, Israel has committed hundreds of violations, resulting in the deaths of 401 Palestinians and injuries to 1,108 others, according to the latest data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the number of Palestinian victims of Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement since October 11 has risen to 405 martyrs and 1,115 wounded, bringing the total number of Palestinian victims of Israeli genocide since October 2023 to 70,937 martyrs and 171,192 wounded.
UN warns of worsening malnutrition
On the humanitarian front, the World Health Organization warned that more than 100,000 children and 37,000 pregnant and lactating women in Gaza could suffer from acute malnutrition by April 2026, given the fragile progress made in combating famine.
The organization’s director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, confirmed that at least 1.6 million people in the sector are facing high levels of food insecurity, warning that renewed fighting or a halt in aid could push the sector towards widespread famine.
The UN official noted that only half of the health facilities are partially operational amid a severe shortage of medical supplies, calling for urgent access for aid to expand life-saving services in Gaza.
UNRWA: Between restrictions and humanitarian need
In this context, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) affirmed that Palestinians continue to rely on its basic services in education and health care within the camps, warning that misleading media campaigns and Israeli restrictions will not end the refugee status of Palestinians.
UNRWA noted in a post on the “X” platform on Sunday evening that its headquarters in the sector, its health facilities, and schools that have been turned into shelters, have been subjected to the Israeli campaign during the past two years, which reinforces the Palestinians’ need for international support.
The agency stressed that a sustainable solution for Palestinian refugees requires finding just political solutions and real investment in Palestinian institutions capable of promoting stability and basic services in the future.
She warned that those who will pay the price for this are "the poorest among the Palestinian refugees, those who live in the camps and have no alternative to UNRWA for basic services such as education and health care."
During the two years of genocide that Israel launched against the Gaza Strip, UNRWA was subjected to a broad Israeli crackdown, and Tel Aviv accused it at the beginning of the war of supporting attacks against it and employing militants within its ranks, which the UN agency denied.
The Palestinians’ need for UNRWA isgrowing, under the weight of the repercussions of a genocidal war waged by Israel with American support on the Gaza Strip for two years, from October 8, 2023, until the ceasefire came into effect on October 10 of last year.
