The Qassam Brigades mourn a number of its leaders, including its spokesman Abu Ubaida.
This came in a military speech delivered by the new spokesman for Al-Qassam Brigades, “Abu Ubaida”, which was published by the Brigades on their Telegram account.
Abu Ubaida said: “We mourn the great leader, the martyr, the mujahid Muhammad Sinwar Abu Ibrahim, Chief of Staff of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the best successor to the best predecessor, the man of the brilliant mind who led the Qassam Brigades in a very difficult stage, succeeding the great martyr of the nation, Abu Khalid al-Deif, after he had been the commander of the operations branch during the Al-Aqsa flood.”
He added that “the martyr Muhammad Sinwar had a great contribution and a prominent role in planning and executing the glorious October 7 operation, as well as supervising the various details of the defense plan and confronting the brutal occupation aggression against Gaza, a journey that our great leader started decades ago, which included great milestones.”
Abu Ubaida also mourned Muhammad Shabana, the commander of the Rafah Brigade in the Qassam Brigades, “who was martyred along with Commander Abu Ibrahim Sinwar and a group of their fellow commanders and mujahideen,” and said that he had made contributions in various positions, from media to supply.
He also announced the martyrdom of Commander Hakam Al-Issa “Abu Omar Al-Muhajir”, and stated that “Lebanon, Syria and various countries knew him before he settled in the land of Gaza, to complete the journey of jihad and transfer his experiences to his fellow mujahideen on the land of Palestine. He moved around in different leadership positions, most notably the training department and the military institutes and colleges authority, ending with the combat weapons department.”
Al-Qassam also mourned the former commander of its manufacturing division and its former operations division, Raed Saad “Abu Mu’adh”, who was the commander of the first Gaza Brigade, then moved between different leadership positions and multiple arenas of jihad, and concluded his career by leading the military manufacturing system that manufactured Al-Qassam’s weapons on its own and with Palestinian hands that performed ablution.
The new spokesman for the Qassam Brigades announced the martyrdom of the former military spokesman, known as “Abu Ubaida,” and said: “We mourn the great martyr, the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaida, the roaring voice of the nation, a man of words and stance, the pulse of Palestine, its holy city, its people and its resistance fighters, the leader of the Qassam media, who had a great impact on the hearts of the nation’s sons.”
He added: “Today, we announce to our nation and our people his passing, by his true name and title, the great leader Hudhaifa Samir Abdullah Al-Kahlout, Abu Ibrahim, who departed after two decades of provoking the enemies and gladdening the hearts of the believers. He met his Lord in the best of states, and what greater sign of sincerity with God is there than that God has elevated his name throughout the world and granted him acceptance on earth?”
He pointed out that Al-Kahlout “led the Qassam Brigades’ media apparatus with great competence, and, along with his brothers, presented what both friend and foe witnessed: a distinguished performance that conveyed to the world the events of the Al-Aqsa uprising in its most glorious form, and the heroic deeds of the Gaza resistancefighters, which astonished the world and enraged the enemies. Leader Hudhaifa Al-Kahlout has passed away, and we have inherited from him his title, Abu Ubaida.”

Abu Ubaida concluded his speech by affirming that “the blood of our people, our fighters, and our leaders that was shed on the land of Gaza in the most honorable of battles is an argument against everyone and a call for the nation to rise up, shake off the dust, and mobilize in support of Palestine and Al-Aqsa, for which Gaza offered the most precious thing it possesses, as an excuse to God that it has done what it must and still does, and its sons will not let down the banner until victory over the enemies or martyrdom in the cause of God in defense of the most just cause known to modern history.”

On October 8, 2023, Israel began a genocidal war in Gaza that left more than 71,000 Palestinian martyrs and more than 171,000 wounded, and ended with a ceasefire agreement on October 10, 2025.
