Smutherman, 28, appeared visibly unsteady as he completed the weigh-in Friday morning at the T-Mobile Arena.

BREAKING NEWS: American UFC fighter Cameron Smotherman passed out on stage after making weight for #UFC324 .

This is why experts like Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier are pushing Dana White to add more weight classes and to push back on

from the stage before losing consciousness and falling forward onto the stage floor.

consciousness shortly afterward and was taken for further medical examinations.

The tournament organizers have not released any further details regarding Smutherman's health condition.

Following this incident, Smutherman's three-round bout against Ricky Turcios, which was scheduled as part of the preliminary portion of Saturday's card, was cancelled.

It is worth noting that all UFC fighters are officially required to go through the weigh-in process the morning before their fights, a process that is often associated with very strict practices (weight cutting) to reduce weight in various combat sports.

Fighters usually participate in a celebratory weigh-n later that same day in front of the public and the media, but Smutherman did not appear at that session on Friday evening, confirming the seriousness of his health condition.

Smutherman entered this week with a professional record of 12 wins and 6 losses, and was about to make his fourth appearance under the UFC banner.

As for his opponent Ricky Turcios, the former winner of the popular television show "The Ultimate Fighter," he is now expected to be completely excluded from the card of the "UFC 324" event as a result of this emergency situation.

The "UFC 324" event will take place this Saturday evening, and all eyes will be on the anticipated showdown between Briton Paddy Pimplet and American Justin Gaethje in a fight for the interim lightweight title, a clash that is considered one of the most prominent and anticipated sporting events on the mixed martial arts calendar this year.
