The Selection Committee (Pansel) for Candidate Members of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) for the 2026-2029 period noted that as of today, Tuesday, 261 applicants had registered online.
Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, Director General of Digital Ecosystems at the Ministry of Communication and Digital, as chairman of the selection committee, assessed the high level of public enthusiasm for involvement in the oversight and development of the national broadcasting sector. He also expressed his appreciation for this strong public interest.
"We greatly appreciate the extraordinary public enthusiasm, with 261 people already registered. This figure demonstrates the public's high hopes that the KPI will be filled by figures of integrity. We encourage more people to register and take on this strategic role before registration closes," Edwin said in a statement.
The high level of participation in the registration of prospective members of the Central KPI is considered a strong indicator of public concern for a healthy, high-quality, and intelligent broadcasting ecosystem for the nation.
