Indonesian women's doubles pair Apriyani Rahayu/Lanny Tria Mayasari successfully passed the mental test in front of the Istora crowd to advance to the semifinals of the BWF World Tour Super 500 Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2026.
Playing at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Apriyani/Lanny eliminated the fourth seeds from Taiwan, Hsu Ya Ching/Sung Yu Hsuan, in a tight three-game match with a score of 21-23, 21-18, 21-19.
"From the first game to the second, our playing style was predictable. In the interval of the second set, we tried to communicate with the coach to change the pattern, not to keep giving extensions, and not to rush things," Apriyani said after the match.
From the first game on, the match was intense, with rallies and narrow points. Apriyani/Lanny briefly took the lead in the final stages, but lost the opening game after losing the setting 21-23.
The pressure intensified in the second and third games as Apriyani/Lanny's playing style began to be read by their opponents. Apriyani admitted that this situation forced them to adapt and make crucial decisions mid-match.
