Brahim Diaz apologizes for missing penalty in 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final  Brahim Diaz apologized to his teammates and the Moroccan people after missing a penalty kick in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal.

His missed penalty kick was a crucial moment in the match and resulted in Morocco's defeat in the final.

On his Instagram account on Monday (20/1), Diaz admitted that he was devastated and took full responsibility for the failure.

"I dreamed of this title thanks to all the love you've given me, every message, every support that made me feel less alone. I fought with everything I had, with all my heart. Yesterday I failed, and I take full responsibility. I apologize from the bottom of my heart," Diaz wrote on Monday.

"This wound will not heal easily, but I will try to get up."

The Real Madrid striker impressed throughout the tournament. Diaz was the top scorer at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with five goals and was instrumental in Morocco's progress to the final.
