ChatGPT starts showing ads, OpenAI ensures it doesn't interfere with AI responses
OpenAI plans to begin testing ad serving on its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT in the next few weeks, as announced in a company blog post.

As reported by Engadget on Saturday, OpenAI stated that adult users in the United States using the free and Go versions of ChatGPT will begin seeing advertisements for products and services displayed below their conversations with the chatbot . OpenAI emphasized that the display of ads will not affect the answers ChatGPT generates.

“Ads will be clearly labeled and separated from organic answers,” OpenAI said.

OpenAI stated that ads will not be displayed when users discuss sensitive topics like health, mental health, or current political issues. The company will also not show ads to users under the age of 18.

Regarding privacy, OpenAI confirms that it will not share or sell user data to advertisers. Users will also be given the option to disable ad personalization and delete data used to generate sponsored responses.
