Indonesian national team coach John Herdman does not view the decision of diaspora players to play in Indonesia as a bad thing. In recent times, several BRI Super League clubs have brought in players from the Indonesian diaspora. Some of the players who have played here include Jordi Amat at Persija Jakarta, Rafael Struick at Dewa United, and Rafael Struick at Bali United.
On Friday, Persija even brought back a diaspora player, namely Shayne Pattynama.
"Of course, it's very important to provide a different feel and set a standard. It also allows the players to get used to the conditions here, as they're very unique, with the heat and humidity," Herdman said
