Madura coach amazed by SUGBK, reminds him of the stadium at the World Cup
Madura United head coach Carlos Parreira admitted he was amazed by the splendor of the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, ahead of the match against hosts Persija Jakarta in week 18 of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League tonight at 7:00 p.m. WIB.

Upon seeing the splendor of the stadium with a capacity of almost 80,000 spectators, Parreira immediately remembered the moment he felt the atmosphere of the stadiums hosting the 2010 World Cup matches when he was assistant coach of the South African national team and also at the 2014 World Cup when he was an analyst with the Brazilian national team.

"This stadium (SUGBK) is extraordinary. I had the opportunity to work at the 2010 World Cup with the South African national team, where we played in the opening match. In the 2014 World Cup, I was also part of the Brazilian national team's technical staff and visited several stadiums," said the Brazilian coach at a pre-match press conference .

"But this stadium (SUGBK) truly amazed me. I wasn't surprised, actually, because I already knew about this stadium, but it was still very impressive," he added.
