  Indonesian men's and women's para judo athletes, Rafli Ahnaf Shidqi and Novia Larassati, added two gold medals for the Indonesian contingent in the 2025 ASEAN Para Games Thailand at the Convention Hall, The Mall Korat, Nakhon Ratchasima, Friday.

Rafli managed to win gold in the men's J1 -70 kg individual final, while Novia won the best medal in the women's J1/J2 -52 kg individual final.

Rafli, 26, managed a total of three wins in the round-robin format , where participants face each other and accumulate the most wins. Meanwhile, Novia, 24, recorded four wins.

In the first men's match, the Indonesian star defeated Edmond Montecillo of the Philippines via ippon . Then, in the second match, it was the host's representative, Vitoon Kongsuk, who fell victim to Rafli's ferocity, ending up in an ippon .

For the third match, he was declared the winner straight away, because Van Duy Nguyen (Vietnam), was injured and could not compete.

In the women's division, Novia began her battle against her senior and compatriot, Marialam Sihotang. She faced a close battle, winning by just one point, or yuko, at the end of the four-minute timeout.

After that, she defeated Kieu Oanh Trinh of Vietnam with a throw that resulted in an ippon . In the third and fourth matches, the smaller Novia defeated two home representatives, Jiranan Kaemkaeo and Nattawan Suriya, with ippon .

In addition to gold medals won by Rafli and Novia, Maria also managed to add another medal for Indonesia, winning silver.
