Indonesian mixed doubles pair Jafar Hidayatullah and Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu advanced to the semifinals of the BWF World Tour Super 500 Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2026 for the first time after eliminating fourth seeds Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue from France at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on Friday.
Jafar/Felisha had to work hard from the start of the match before finally finishing the 1 hour and 10 minute match with a 13-21, 22-20, 21-16 victory.
"In the first game after the interval, our opponents played fast. We also lost the wind, so we were confused and couldn't get out of the pressure," said Jafar after the match.
Early in the match, Jafar/Felisha appeared to have yet to fully find their rhythm, trailing 1-5 in the first game. Their efforts to catch up were evident when the world number nine pair narrowed the gap to 5-9.
Slowly but surely, Jafar/Felisha began to press and equalize the score before finally turning the score around to lead 11-9 at the interval of the first game.
However, the lead didn't last long. After the break, Gicquel/Delrue came out aggressive, scoring eight consecutive points, causing the Indonesian pair to lose momentum.
