BNP Paribas Open top seed Carlos Alcaraz believes the key to his perfect 12-0 start to 2026 has nothing to do with his forehand or backhand.
"I think I'm controlling my emotions better on court. I would say that's the key to the good level of tennis I've been showing lately," Alcaraz said during a pre-tournament press conference for the ATP Masters 1000 in Indian Wells.
"Because on the field, I just control myself, and in a calm state I can find solutions."
The Spaniard completed her Career Grand Slam at the Australian Open and maintained her momentum by winning the title in Doha. The world number one revealed that mindset was key to her early-season success.
