Alcaraz to Sabalenka nominated for Laureus World Sports Awards
Several world tennis players, including Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, have been nominated for the 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards.

Alcaraz and Sinner are nominated for the Laureus World Sports Awards World Sportsman of the Year category, while rising star Joao Fonseca is nominated for World Breakthrough of the Year.
the nominations continue the positive trend for men's tennis at the Laureus Awards.

The last male tennis player to win the World Sportsman of the Year award was Novak Djokovic, who won the award in 2024.

Alcaraz and Sinner are both seeking to lift the award for the first time.

Alcaraz is already a Laureus winner, having won the Breakthrough of the Year Award in 2023 after his maiden major title at the US Open and his rise to world No. 1.
