The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Eastern Conference leaders Detroit Pistons by a narrow 113-109 score in an NBA match at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on Wednesday, Western Indonesian Time.
This victory also served as a measure of revenge for the home team after suffering a defeat in Detroit the previous week, even though they had to play without main star Donovan Mitchell.
Quoting the NBA website, Cleveland Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson provided information regarding the condition of Donovan Mitchell, who has missed four consecutive games due to a groin muscle injury.
"He's trending better," Atkinson said of the star's recovery, although he couldn't say for sure when Mitchell would return to the floor to build chemistry with new teammate James Harden.
Jaylon Tyson led the Cavaliers with 22 points. Meanwhile, James Harden, a trade acquisition at the trade deadline, contributed significantly with 18 points to help his team secure a home victory.
Evan Mobley further strengthened Cleveland's dominance with 18 points, followed by Dennis Schroder with 15 for the Cavaliers. This result left both teams level at 2-2, with 2 wins and 2 losses in their four meetings so far this regular season.
