The manager of the Indonesian National Rock Climbing Training Team, Wahyu Pristiawan Buntoro, announced the list of athletes who will be included in the 2026 national training camp (pelatnas) program of the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation.
He explained that the list was compiled based on the results of athlete performance evaluations at a number of national and international championships, as well as the team's needs for various international tournament agendas.
"The determination of the athletes for the 2026 national training camp is the result of a selection process, a comprehensive evaluation, and a form of organizational transformation, so that we can prepare the best team to compete in international championships," Wahyu said at the Indonesian rock climbing team's national training camp in Bekasi City, West Java, on Wednesday.
He explained that the athletes will undergo a centralized training program with the guidance of a new coaching team, to improve their performance and consistency ahead of various international championships, including the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games multi-sport event.
"We hope the athletes can show significant progress during the national training and be able to bring honor to Indonesia at the international level," said the man who is also the General Secretary of the PP FPTI.
He added that the athletes are divided into three disciplines: speed , lead , and bouldering . In the latter two, the athletes will compete in two disciplines.
