Jojo complains about the shuttlecock at the 2026 All England
Indonesian men's singles badminton player Jonatan Christie complained that the shuttlecock felt much heavier when he competed at the 2026 All England.

Jojo was eliminated in the round of 32 after losing to Singapore's singles player Jason Teh in a dramatic rubber game 21-11, 10-21, 21-15 in the match which took place at the Utillita Arena Birmingham.

"I didn't expect the shuttlecock to be quite heavy and there was no air. It was similar to the conditions at the 2024 All England, but the ball speed was slower. So it did require more power," Jojo said, as quoted by PBSI.

"I have to be more patient and calm. Several times my shots weren't quite right; for example, when I hit a smash, the ball stopped a bit," he added.

Jojo hopes to perform much better in the future. However, the 28-year-old badminton player admitted he was very disappointed with the result at this BWF Super 1000 tournament, as he had prepared thoroughly.

"The All England is one of my target tournaments. It's a major event with significant points. After the India Open, my last tournament, I've had a lot more preparation leading up to this. It's psychological, physical, and my playing style," Jojo explained.

The 2024 All England champion said that there had been many surprises in the men's singles event at the All England.

Therefore, Jojo said that every match is not easy to get through because the competition between players is much more even.

"I think it's quite good. There are a lot of good players, including young players, so anyone can win. But we have to treat every match as a final," said Jojo.
