The World Boxing Council (WBC) announced that WBC bantamweight world champion Takuma Inoue will face Kazuto Ioka for a title defense.
"A high-profile bout between Takuma Inoue and veteran Kazuto Ioka will be the opening bout on Tokyo's big night," the WBC wrote on its website, which was monitored.
Takuma captured the WBC bantamweight world title in 2023 and has since been working to solidify his position among the world's elite bantamweights.
Takuma's boxing style is known for its technical and disciplined style, featuring the ability to maintain distance and deliver effective, fast-paced punch combinations. The 29-year-old currently holds a professional record of 20 wins and one loss, demonstrating his consistency at bantamweight.
The younger brother of undisputed super bantamweight world champion Naoya Inoue has built a strong career and will now face a tough test against highly experienced opponent Kazuto Ioka.
The fight against Ioka will be a chance for him to prove that he is capable of defending his title against a boxer with extensive experience on the world championship stage.
