Indonesian women's speed climbing athlete pair Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi/Kadek Adi Asih won the speed relay category at the 2026 Sanya Asian Beach Games in China.
In the competition held at the Tianya Haijiao Venue Cluster, the pair defeated South Korean representatives Jimin Jeong/Hanareum Sung in the final round.
The Indonesian representative recorded a time of 13.76 seconds, while his opponent recorded a time of 16.50 seconds.
The two Indonesian women's athletes had a tight journey to the final. They narrowly won with a time of 13.174 seconds, defeating the home team, Yafei Zhou and Lijuan Deng, who clocked 13.178 seconds.
Meanwhile, another women's pair, Puja Lestari/Amanda Narda Mutia, were forced to stop their progress in the quarter-finals, after losing to the South Korean pair Jimin Jeong/Hanareum Sung.
The Indonesian pair recorded a time of 14.98 seconds, while their opponents were faster, clocking 13.66 seconds.
