Indonesian men's doubles coach Antonius Budi Ariantho said that the men's doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin are being prepared as a pair to compete in the 2028 Olympics.
Leo/Daniel were previously reshuffled by the coaching team after the 2024 Indonesia Open. However, Leo was paired again with Daniel and made their debut at the 2026 Thailand Open, which took place from May 12-17.
"From my perspective, Leo/Daniel should have made it to the Olympics. They were indeed prepared for the Olympics," Antonius Budi Ariantho told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Budi Ariantho explained that if Leo/Daniel were to be reshuffled again, it would be impossible considering that preparations for the 2028 Olympics had already begun next year.
"I can't, I can't wait to replace anyone else. There's no time left. What will happen next year, the Olympic points," said Antonius Budi Ariantho.
Leo/Daniel made a strong debut at the 2026 Thailand Open, securing the BWF Super 500 title.
"Yes, I'm grateful to have won. It can increase their confidence, right? Especially Daniel and Leo, in the future," said Anton, as he is familiarly known.
Anton believes that Leo/Daniel's communication has been very good so far, so the results they achieved at the 2026 Thailand Open were not surprising.
